Product Description

HAIs are a class of devices with wrist-like joints at their tips, enabling wrist rotation of up to 360 degrees. They combine the dexterity of robotic systems with the ease of use of traditional devices. The operator's hand or wrist movements can be directly transmitted to the device's tip, achieving synchronized motion.

Application of handheld multi-joint instruments in different surgical fields: Digestive surgery

Handheld multi-jointed instruments are most widely used in digestive surgery, especially in procedures requiring delicate manipulation and sufficient space for maneuver, such as lymph node dissection, lesion resection, and anastomosis.

Nissen fundoplication
It was first reported in a revision surgery of Nissen fundoplication in a 2-year-old child, significantly improving suturing in confined spaces. Subsequent studies have also confirmed the good efficacy of handheld multi-joint instruments in this procedure, with no reported complications.

Other gastrointestinal surgeries
The handheld multi-joint device has been successfully applied to laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB), radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer, and distal gastrectomy, with good clinical results, few complications, and no reported deaths.

Application of handheld multi-jointed instruments in various surgical fields: Colorectal surgery

Handheld multi-jointed instruments have shown good performance in intestinal anastomosis.

The overall complication rate of handheld multi-jointed instruments in surgeries for colorectal cancer and complex diverticulosis is 10.7%.

Applications of handheld multi-jointed instruments in various surgical fields: Urology

Laparoscopic radical prostatectomy
When performing delicate suturing and anastomosis within the narrow pelvic cavity, the 360-degree wrist rotation capability of instruments can significantly improve the convenience and accuracy of the operation.

Partial nephrectomy
Its flexibility helps protect normal kidney tissue during precise tumor removal and wound closure.

Pyeloureplasty
For conditions such as ureteral stricture, especially in cases of complex anatomy or severe adhesions, the multi-joint nature of instruments helps to bypass obstacles and achieve delicate reconstructive anastomosis. Instruments demonstrate flexibility within the confined pelvic cavity.
